Thirty years ago, I had a quiet moment that changed my life forever. I was standing at my worktable in my parents’ house. My baby boy was strapped to my back, fast asleep. In front of me were scraps of fabric and paper that I was cutting and gluing together into something beautiful and functional. I was back home with my parents. After 7 years in university managing to become a single mum of two in the process, the future looked bleak... On that day...I don’t remember what I was thinking as I worked quietly - in the zone, but I remember how it felt: A rebirth. New Hope. New Dreams. New Vision. If anyone asks me, that was the moment I became an entrepreneur. I discovered I could create something out of nothing. I could turn what I had into something that mattered. And while I didn’t know it at the time, it became the foundation of everything I’ve done since. We all have moments like this—defining moments that shape who we are and what we’re here to do. Often, they don’t make sense at the time. But looking back, we see how they connect to the work we’re doing today. What’s your moment? The one that changed everything. The one that planted the seed for what you do now. Your story. It’s already there inside you. I promise. And uncovering it is one of the most powerful things you can do—for yourself and for your world. As you look back on your journey, you will notice recurring themes? Little threads that have been there from the start, weaving their way through everything you’ve done? For me, it was a series of moments: ...like the memory of me standing at my worktable 30 years ago, creating with scraps of fabric while my baby boy slept on my back. At the time, none of these moments make perfect sense. They're just sparks, inklings. But when you step back, you begin to see the thread (I call it the golden thread): Your golden thread connects your journey... your work, and the unique way you serve your audience. The way you see the world. It’s the reason your story resonates. It’s what makes you stand out, no matter how many others do the same thing you do. If you haven’t written your story yet, here’s your invitation to start. Begin anywhere—at a defining moment, an accident, a meeting, a day, a year, or an unexpected turn. Follow the thread and see where it takes you. Till tomorrow, Eme P.S. Not sure how to start? I'm thinking of running a live interactive workshop where I work with a small group to Write their Significant Story and turn those pivotal moments into stories that connect and inspire. For now it's just the spark of an idea. Reply with a YES, to let me know if you would be interested in getting my help with putting together your story and I'll send more details. |

Yesterday, my bestie woke up in the middle of the night, ate a few biscuits from her bedside snack drawer (don’t even ask) and promptly went back to sleep. We were on a FaceTime call, when she randomly shared this fact with me. Apparently, she’s been on this 21-day fast, and according to her, the hunger was kicking her butt! After we had a good laugh about her midnight snack attack, we somehow ended up talking about make-up. She even gave me a mini makeup lesson right there on the call “This...
Nobody cares about your story... Harsh? Maybe. Here’s a marketing lesson for you: people only care about themselves—their own pains, problems, desires, and goals. So if you’re going to tell your story, you need to tell it in a way that matters to them. Your story needs to reflect their desires, pains and needs. When I recently shared my own story, I knew it had to serve a purpose: reintroducing myself to my warm audience. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats—psychology student, medical school...
Over 100 likes and 30 comments in just 2 days after sharing my story - and that was just on my Facebook profile. On my linkedIn page it was wild. I had not posted anything for months and I just I posted my origin story and it was bonkers! Over 7000 percent increase in impressions and 2.5% increase in followers. Nothing fancy. I just told my origin story. I shared my story because I had to put my money where my mouth is and practice what I had been "preaching" to you to do all this time... I...
