Thirty years ago, I had a quiet moment that changed my life forever. I was standing at my worktable in my parents’ house. My baby boy was strapped to my back, fast asleep. In front of me were scraps of fabric and paper that I was cutting and gluing together into something beautiful and functional. I was back home with my parents. After 7 years in university managing to become a single mum of two in the process, the future looked bleak... On that day...I don’t remember what I was thinking as I worked quietly - in the zone, but I remember how it felt: A rebirth. New Hope. New Dreams. New Vision. If anyone asks me, that was the moment I became an entrepreneur. I discovered I could create something out of nothing. I could turn what I had into something that mattered. And while I didn’t know it at the time, it became the foundation of everything I’ve done since. We all have moments like this—defining moments that shape who we are and what we’re here to do. Often, they don’t make sense at the time. But looking back, we see how they connect to the work we’re doing today. What’s your moment? The one that changed everything. The one that planted the seed for what you do now. Your story. It’s already there inside you. I promise. And uncovering it is one of the most powerful things you can do—for yourself and for your world. As you look back on your journey, you will notice recurring themes? For me, it was a series of moments: ...like the memory of me standing at my worktable 30 years ago, creating with scraps of fabric while my baby boy slept on my back. At the time, none of these moments make perfect sense. They're just sparks, inklings. But when you step back, you begin to see the thread (I call it the golden thread): Your golden thread connects your journey... your work, and the unique way you serve your audience. The way you see the world. It’s the reason your story resonates. It’s what makes you stand out, no matter how many others do the same thing you do.
